Upcoming events in Wrocław - artistic autumn
Autumn in Wrocław is always the start of a new artistic season. Starting in September, we are in for another season of real feasting. In September, we continued the adventure with the cyclical event Summer Sounds. Also behind us are two major festivals - Wratislavia Cantans and Jazz on the Oder. These are events that attract crowds of classical music fans to Wrocław every year. But do you think these are all the cultural events in Wrocław that take place in autumn? Nothing could be further from the truth!
October sees the return to the Capitol's Big Stage of both well-known shows and hot premieres. Just debuting on the Polish stage is "Priscilla. Queen of the Desert'. It is a daring work, dealing with the subject of drag queens. However, knowing Capitol's excellent flair and finesse in artistic productions of musicals, it is worth taking interest in the available tickets. Lazarus, originally a work by David Bowie, also returns to the stage. Great music and an important theme are the basis of a good show performed by Wrocław's Musical Theatre.
Excellent works can also be found at the Opera House. Fans of ballet will enjoy Don Juan, and if you prefer classical opera, you will certainly enjoy Carmen or Tosca. There will also be plenty of attractions for fans of other musical climates. The Film Music Concert returns to Wrocław and we invite you to the Centennial Hall. If you are looking for a suitable event for the weekend, we encourage you to browse through the list of concerts. Wrocław will host such stars as Garou, who is probably familiar to most slightly older listeners, as well as Myslovitz, Anita Lipnicka, Sarsa, Kasia Kowalska, Organek and Apocalyptica. It promises to be a rock autumn!
Winter events in Wrocław
Christmas in Wrocław is already clearly associated with the Christmas Market on the Market Square. It's not just an opportunity for Christmas shopping - the market is the perfect place to experience the city's festive atmosphere. In the run-up to Christmas, the Market Square offers excellent food, the famous Wrocław mulled wine, a parade of carol singers, Father Christmas and the lighting of the Christmas tree.
Or are you heading to Wrocław with your family? This is a great time to visit the local attractions without too many crowds. Winter at the zoo, the Afrykarium, the Aquapark or Hydropolis is just as interesting as spring or summer. It is also a great time to look for Wrocław's dwarves in the winter aura. There is also no shortage of attractions in Kolejków, where a beautiful Christmas gingerbread city awaits every year.
In addition, luminous illuminations can be admired throughout the city. Among others, Ostrów Tumski (Cathedral Island) is beautifully decorated for Christmas - meeting a lighthouse keeper in such circumstances is a unique experience. In turn, music lovers and ballet enthusiasts should follow the repertoire of the Wrocław Opera House, which always prepares special Christmas events.
